MCGS normally has monthly "in person" beginner genealogy classes at the Milwaukee Central Public Library (MPL). Link to "New Accessions", listed in the left menu column on this website. MPL provides MCGS with the list of new reference books at the library. These items have recently been added to the Frank P. Zeidler Humanities Room at the Milwaukee Central Library, located at 814 W Wisconsin Avenue. They may only be used in this room. However, copies of the books may be available through your local library's interlibrary loan service.
The Humanities Room, is currently closed to the public. Please call the library, to check if the Humanities Room has re-opened, before your visit.

The Wisconsin Vital Records Office is responsible for filing, preserving, protecting, changing, and issuing copies of birth certificates, death certificates, marriage certificates, divorce certificates, and records of declaration of domestic partnership and termination of domestic partnership for events that occur in Wisconsin. This Web site provides information on obtaining copies of vital records, searching our records in person, and other available services.
