Volunteer with MCGS!

  • MCGS is run by volunteers, please consider helping!
    • Rest assured that help and guidance will be provided.
    • Take a look at the inside back cover of any issue of the REPORTER. Everyone is a volunteer.
    • MCGS is a diverse community of genealogists.
    • If you are interested in volunteering in any capacity, please send your contact information and a short bio to: info@milwaukeegenealogy.org
    • Attend a general meeting or board meeting, to explore volunteer opportunities available.
      • Work on a committee.
      • Volunteer at a Festival booth, Ask a Genealogist session, or Biennial Conference.
      • Be a Board Member, or attend meetings to offer suggestions.
    • Please volunteer today, and help us continue the mission of MCGS to educate and support the genealogical community of Milwaukee County.
    • MCGS was established in 1935, we need everyone's help to keep it going strong into the future.

  • VOLUNTEERS needed to assist at:
    • Ask a Genealogist with MCGS and MPL!
      • Good Hope Library, 7715 W Good Hope Rd, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
      • Saturday, April 6th at 10:00am-3:00pm

  • TECHNICAL COORDINATOR needed
    • ​We are looking for someone to help provide a quality hybrid online experience for MCGS in person / zoom online General Meetings and Classes. Meetings are held in the Milwaukee Central Public Library Rotary Club of Milwaukee Community Meeting Room.
      • ​Technical assistance is needed:
        • ​with the meeting room audio-visual connections. The meeting room's projection screen is connected to devices by wi-fi or cable.
        • to help speakers display their computer screens simultaneously to both the projection screen and zoom.
        • for zoom meetings including admiting attendees from the the waiting room, monitoring the chat for issues/questions, muting attendees if needed, and recording sessions.

 
  • INSTRUCTORS needed for 2024-2025 Beginner Genealogy Classes
    • Please check out the topics and see if any of the topics are dear to your heart and you have information to share.
    • Additional instructors are needed to help teach the classes.
